Men & Women’s health

Dr. Brown is a board certified and a diplomate of the American Academy of Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine.  He is a specialist in men and women’s hormones and prevention of chronic disease. Bio-identical hormones are used when hormone replacement is necessary. These hormones are chemically identical to the ones found in your body.  When bio-identical hormones are used correctly, adverse effects are virtually never seen, unlike the use of synthetic hormones.  It is important to ensure that our hormones are at optimal levels and are working in harmony with each other for us to feel our best.  We use blood, saliva and urine to check our hormone levels and their metabolism.  Nutrition plays a major role in how are body’s functions, so we measure levels and make recommendations accordingly.

Men’s Health

We specialize in testosterone replacement therapy to help men achieve optimal health.  We use bio-identical testosterone pellets to achieve desired levels, but other forms of therapy are also used if necessary.  Pellets are about the size of rice and they are inserted in the upper buttocks right in the office. The procedure takes less than 10 minutes and stitches are not even necessary.  This method is the most physiological way of releasing testosterone in the body.  The effects will last 4-6 months.  If you are experiencing any of the following, you might need hormone balancing:

  • decreased sex drive
  • decreased energy
  • decreased strength, stamina or endurance
  • diminished strength of erections
  • decreased initiative or drive
  • decreased enjoyment of life
  • sad, grumpy or moody
  • gynecomastia (“man boobs”)

Women’s Health

We specialize in balancing women’s hormones.  Imbalanced hormones can begin as early as the teenage years, and if you can balance them sooner, you can avoid potential problems later on in life. Breast cancer prevention is done by examining hormone levels and their metabolism, as well as screening for proper nutrient levels that have been shown to protect against cancer. The following are symptoms of imbalanced hormones and may be corrected naturally:

  • irregular periods
  • painful cramps
  • menstrual headaches
  • PMS
  • fibroids
  • fibrocystic breasts
  • mood swings
  • heavy menstrual bleeding
  • polycystic ovary disease (PCOS)
  • hot flashes
